With a focus on residential architecture, we create beautiful, meaningful and functional spaces that embrace innovation and sustainability while delivering positive social impact. These principles are at the heart of everything we do.
Whether you are looking to maximise the space you have, extend your home to create more room, or have a site in mind for a new-build project, House of Grandeur can help. Our experience spans both simple and complex sites, conservation areas, listed buildings and heritage projects.
Through our comprehensive services we offer guidance and support through every stage of the construction process. From the initial brief, we use a variety of techniques to explore and develop designs that respond to the unique needs and context of each project. When acting as Principal Designer we can plan, manage, monitor and coordinate health, safety and regulatory compliance during the pre-construction phase. We also manage planning and building control applications and oversee construction on site, ensuring your priorities remain at the heart of the project.
Together, we can bring your vision to life. For a free initial consultation and to find out how we can help you, please get in touch.

Differentiation:
Contrasting and softening tones with Marziale brick and zinc. A beautifully composed extension and recessed profile dormer is designed to complement this much loved Edwardian home that sits close to the sea front. Internal arrangements are maximised to be bright, open and highly functional. Differing internal views show how the space could be perceived.

Our story, process, and
how we can assist you

Chris is originally from Norfolk, where his career began in the construction industry as a quantity surveyor. While his early career developed a strong understanding of cost, construction and commercial management, it was the design and creation of buildings that captured his imagination. This led Chris to transition into architecture.
The image opposite is one of many Norfolk manor house projects designed and built during this period — an early example of Chris's appreciation for the relationship between architecture, local context and craftsmanship.
House of Grandeur was founded by Chris in 2025, following several years working with award-winning architectural practices in the UK. Having studied at London Metropolitan University while working in practice, Chris obtained valuable experience across all levels of architecture, from concept design to understanding how to navigate planning and building regulation requirements, through to project administration and delivery. From an office perspective, Chris gained insight into how large practices are run.
Based in North Shields near Newcastle, North East of England, Chris brings his experience to House of Grandeur with a clear ambition: to create architecture that is considered, distinctive and designed for people who use it.
Whether working with a modest budget or a significant investment, the studio believes that great architecture should be accessible to everyone.
Every client works directly with Chris, from the first conversation through to completion and handover. This personal approach means that every project receives close attention from start to finish, with design decisions shaped around the site and the aspirations of each client.

Collaboration is central to how we work. We bring together trusted structural engineers, consultants, and specialist craftsman to form a project team, working collectively to deliver intelligent and inspired design solutions. We believe the best architecture comes from shared expertise.
House of Grandeur works across all stages of the RIBA Plan of Work. We provide clear and transparent fee proposals from the outset, with a commitment to delivering considered architecture, a personal service and value throughout the building process.
Grandeur is for everyone.
